British Legion Women's Section Life Member Badges
The Life Membership Badge of the Royal British Legion Women's Section has
evolved in the 79 years since its beginning in the early 1920's when the first
British Legion Life Membership Badge was made in silver gilt at the J R Gaunt &
Son London.
Various enamel badge manufacturers have had the honour of manufacturing the
different types of Life Membership badge over the years.
In this online exhibition of Royal British Legion Women's Section (RBL) and British Legion
Women's Section Life Membership Badges the visitor will see how it has evolve
over the last 40 years of a plain bar with Life Member written in gilt on blue enamel to the
current model.

National Life membership may be awarded to a member who has given at least ten
years meritorious and conspicuous service to the objectives of the Legion as
defined by the Royal Charter and who holds the Legion Golden Award Badge. The
recipient retains her full rights without payment of subscriptions for the rest of his
natural life.
When National Life membership is approved a framed certificate is sent to the
member's branch for issue, together with a National Life membership card and
badge.
